Liz has worked closely with residents in social housing for well over 20 years. Originally a tenant activist exploring tenant management in a central London borough in the 1980’s, she went on to focus on empowering local communities through tenant management first as a consultant and then as an officer for two London councils who were keen to promote and develop TMOs. She returned to consultancy in the early 2000’s and focused on developing TMOs.

Liz primarily works directly with TMOs but sometimes works as an associate for the National Federation of TMOs (NFTMO) and other agencies. She specializes in support and development to established TMOs mainly in London and the South. This includes renegotiating TMO management agreements and TMO allowances, organisation health checks and governance reviews, training for TMO committees and members and working with TMOs to develop their future objectives and business plans. She has written good practice guides for TMOs on allowances and allocations  on behalf of the NFTMO. She is keen to make sure that developing and operating TMOs have real choice over a range of quality services on offer at value for money prices.

Liz also works for council, housing association and co-operative landlords acting as an Independent Tenant Advisor, setting up various participation initiatives including community cashback schemes, and providing training to staff and tenants.  She is a Government Approved Assessor for TMOs under the Right to Manage Regulations and has carried out numerous TMO assessments.
